Veteran Frank Borrell’s Final Wish Comes True Thanks To Dream Foundation

Veteran Frank Borrell was lucky enough to re-visit the USS Missouri, the ship he once worked on as a young sailor during WWII. At 94 years old, Borrell has terminal cancer and he hoped to climb aboard the historic ship once more while he still could.

Borrell’s wish came true thanks to the Dream Foundation, a nonprofit organization working to make dreams come true for seniors and other adults facing life-threatening illnesses.

Kindness helps Lake Elsinore man battling cancer fix up yard

Last Christmas Lake Elsinore resident Aaron Roy struggled to put up decorative lawn inflatables before his 2-year-old son, Eli, came home from day care.

After the daylong ordeal and Santa finally in place, Roy retreated inside to rest and didn’t notice when someone stole the decorations.

The theft was the least of the family’s worries.

Wish-Granting Dream Foundation In Need of Airline Miles

The Dream Foundation, the first national wish-granting organization for adults in the end stages of life, is calling upon the national community to donate airline miles to help fulfill travel-related final dreams.

From a small office in Santa Barbara, the Dream Foundation is working on 134 dreams — with more than 50 requesting travel, to allow for reunions, goodbyes and final family trips. The airline tickets associated with these dreams alone would require more than 5 million airline miles.
