For Alice and her husband, this is certainly true. Alice’s Alzheimer’s disease limited her ability to converse, but the love she and her husband had for each other was evident. Alice’s hospice social worker told us, “…when first meeting them I was impressed by their level of commitment to each other. As we got to know each other, their love story became even more endearing.”
Knowing it might likely be the last they celebrate together, their daughter Renee wanted to arrange a small 50th anniversary celebration and vow renewal. She wanted them to have a cake and flowers, a new dress for Alice, and an intimate bedside dinner for the couple. Dream Foundation gave life to Alice’s final Dream by providing the funds for this very special celebration.
“I’m very blessed to have [Dream Foundation] help me,” Renee wrote us. “It was beyond perfect; it was just gorgeous. Everything was beautiful, we are so grateful. It meant the world to my mom and dad, and me. It brought me love and support. I feel so appreciative and so blessed for Dream Foundation and all you guys. I wouldn’t be able to do anything like this myself. It was such an honor to be a part of it.”
