Deckers Brands Supports Dream Foundation’s Flower Empower Program

In the News | October 14, 2021

In an effort to give back to the Santa Barbara Community, Deckers Brands employees supported Dream Foundation’s Flower Empower program earlier this month by creating over 150 bouquets to deliver to residents in need of cheer. The event took place as part of Decker’s third Art of Kindness week, which encourages employees to volunteer in their communities worldwide.

“Art of Kindness is a week to take a step back and recognize how we can positively impact our local communities around the world,” said Michelle Apodaca, Director of Deckers Gives. “It’s important to appreciate our accomplishments and support our neighbors.”

A locally-based nonprofit, Dream Foundation is the only national dream-granting organization for adults who are terminally-ill. Deckers Brands has supported the organization for more than ten years, most recently by participating in its Flower Empower Program on October 1st. This inspiring initiative delivers floral bouquets, chocolates, cookies, and cards to any community members in need of cheering up in Santa Barbara County’s cancer centers, hospices, and even individual homes.

“Flower Empower allows me to reach out to the community and to know that I’m making a positive difference in someone else’s life” said Barbara Allcock, Administrative Assistant for Deckers Product Development and Innovation.
