Computer helps veteran connect

Northfield Center — Frank Washumick cannot get out into the world very much anymore, but a recent gift will bring the world to him.

The 81-year-old, terminally ill Army veteran received a new laptop computer July 17 from the California-based Dream Foundation. According to the foundation’s Web site, it is a “wish-granting organization for adults with life-limiting illness.”

Washumick described it as a “happy day.”
