Dreams often reconnect veterans with aspects of their military service with visits to special monuments and pinning ceremonies, bringing them, their families and their caregivers inspiration, comfort and closure at the end of life.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to helping Dream Foundation fulfill more Dreams for veterans, the partnership also provides opportunities for U.S.-based Eisai Inc. employees to be directly involved in making Dreams come true. Cronin says, &#8220;During a national sales meeting we had, our employees participated in an activity that created over 200 beach bag kits for upcoming Dream recipients. Along with beach essentials, employees attached a hand-written note filled with warm wishes for the recipients&#8217; upcoming trip.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Eisai employees also volunteer as Dream Hosts, visiting Dream recipients nationwide to deliver everything that Dream Foundation provides to help their particular Dream come true and special gifts from the Dream Hosts. As Cronin says, \u201cEisai is very proud to be a partner because it gives our employees an opportunity to volunteer and help deliver the Dreams and respectfully be part of a very important moment in these peoples\u2019 lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One such visit was to a recipient named Sanford, who dreamed of taking his children, Harry Potter Fans, to see the \u201cHarry Potter\u201d Broadway show, and have lunch with them. A team from Eisai went on the Dream delivery to visit Sanford and his wife, Dorothy. Afterward, one of the Eisai Dream Hosts, Susan, wrote to us to say, \u201cOur team was taken back by the opportunity to meet Dorothy and Sanford on Friday to deliver gifts along with the Dream of going to a Broadway show next week. Joseph dreamed of visiting his daughter and meeting his four-year-old grandson, Aden, along with seeing friends in the area.<\/h6>\n<p>For the past two years, pharmaceutical company Kyowa Kirin, Inc. has provided essential funds to make Dreams come true for terminally-ill adults and their families across the nation.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership came about when a winner of a regional sales contest chose a charitable organization to be the beneficiary of a donation in 2015. The winner chose Dream Foundation, and Kyowa Kirin immediately saw the synergy between their values and Dream Foundation\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n<p>Kyowa Kirin looks beyond creating medicine to making people smile and bringing light to their lives, with \u201cCommitment to Life\u201d being one of the company\u2019s global core values. Everyone at the company is encouraged to focus on those they serve, people whom they see as fighting for their lives every day.<\/p>\n<p>As part of working in Oncology, one of four therapeutic areas that Kyowa Kirin is active in (along with Nephrology, Immunology\/Allergy and Neurology), they engage regularly with physicians, health care services and patient communities that are involved in care at the end of life. This gives them great insight to the importance that patients place on having a Dream come true at the end of their lives.<\/p>\n<p>Kyowa Kirin prides itself on taking a \u201chands on\u201d approach to corporate social responsibility. Len Paolillo, Kyowa Kirin North America\u2019s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, serves as a member of Dream Foundation\u2019s New York Advisory Council, which raises awareness and provides vital funds for Dreams on the East Coast. Kyowa Kirin also gives high performing employees a chance to take part in Dream deliveries, visiting Dream recipients to give them everything that Dream Foundation provides to make their particular Dream come true. The company also feels that this is a great reminder of why they do the work they do, and reinforces their mission to make a positive difference in the lives of patients where they can.<\/p>\n<p>Paolillo says, \u201cWe form a bond with the families and Dream Foundation as we plan our visit together and think of ways we can enhance the delivery so the Dream recipient, and their family, have an experience they all will cherish. Turo\u2019s host community provided him with a convertible, so that he could tour Miami in style, and Turo covered the cost of the journey.<\/h6>\n<p>Over 60 percent of Dreams involve travel of some kind, and peer-to-peer car-sharing company Turo helps those Dreams that include car travel of any kind come true.<\/p>\n<p>Turo\u2019s involvement with Dream Foundation began at Turbo Week, a company-wide conference held in January of 2019, when a Turo customer support specialist brought everyone\u2019s attention to a terminally-ill man who wanted to drive a Jaguar F-Type R before he died.<\/p>\n<p>His story inspired them to partner with Dream Foundation and connect members of their wonderful host community, who share their cars on the platform, with Dream recipients. Turo also covers the cost of the Dream recipients&#8217; journeys.<\/p>\n<p>Logan K. from the Turo Executive Support Team explains how it works. She says, &#8220;We take pride in vetting our hosts and finding the best host possible for the Dream recipient&#8217;s trip. We typically look for Power Hosts (these hosts have many vehicles on our platform, strive to provide great service, and have specific metrics they have to meet). Also, these hosts provide extras like refuelling, unlimited mileage, and post-trip cleaning so our Dream recipients do not have to worry when picking up or dropping off the car.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Another member of the Executive Support Team, Ashley M., adds, &#8220;I felt very privileged to be a part of Dream Foundation&#8217;s mission. From coordinating transportation for a family of six to go to their lake house for a fishing trip, to assisting in one couple&#8217;s first trip to the Grand Canyon, or helping someone fulfill their lifelong Dream of going to the Superbowl, it has been nothing less than heart-warming and fulfilling to hear and see the joy Turo&#8217;s contribution has made for all the people involved!&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Workplace Giving<\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>Dream Foundation proudly partners with employers to provide workplace giving opportunities that make giving easy. Eisai Co., Ltd, has supported Dream Foundation\\u2019s Dreams for Veterans program since 2018, increasing their support in 2019.<\\\/p>\\n\\n\n\n<p>Teresa Cronin, Senior Director of Corporate Advocacy at Eisai Inc., explains, \\u201cI first heard of Dream Foundation through a work colleague who was very impressed by the mission of the foundation since it closely aligned with how Eisai lives our human health care mission.\\u201d<\\\/p>\\n\\n\n\n<p>Officially launched in 2015, Dream Foundation's Dreams for Veterans program honors our veterans' service by fulfilling their final Dreams. Dreams often reconnect veterans with aspects of their military service with visits to special monuments and pinning ceremonies, bringing them, their families and their caregivers inspiration, comfort and closure at the end of life.<\\\/p>\\n \\n\n\n<p>In addition to helping Dream Foundation fulfill more Dreams for veterans, the partnership also provides opportunities for U.S.-based Eisai Inc. employees to be directly involved in making Dreams come true. Cronin says, \\\"During a national sales meeting we had, our employees participated in an activity that created over 200 beach bag kits for upcoming Dream recipients. Along with beach essentials, employees attached a hand-written note filled with warm wishes for the recipients' upcoming trip.\\\"<\\\/p>\\n\\n\n\n<p>Eisai employees also volunteer as Dream Hosts, visiting Dream recipients nationwide to deliver everything that Dream Foundation provides to help their particular Dream come true and special gifts from the Dream Hosts. As Cronin says, \\u201cEisai is very proud to be a partner because it gives our employees an opportunity to volunteer and help deliver the Dreams and respectfully be part of a very important moment in these peoples\\u2019 lives.\\u201d<\\\/p>\\n \\n\n\n<p>One such visit was to a recipient named Sanford, who dreamed of taking his children, Harry Potter Fans, to see the \\u201cHarry Potter\\u201d Broadway show, and have lunch with them. A team from Eisai went on the Dream delivery to visit Sanford and his wife, Dorothy. Afterward, one of the Eisai Dream Hosts, Susan, wrote to us to say, \\u201cOur team was taken back by the opportunity to meet Dorothy and Sanford on Friday to deliver gifts along with the Dream of going to a Broadway show next week. The winner chose Dream Foundation, and Kyowa Kirin immediately saw the synergy between their values and Dream Foundation\\u2019s mission.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Kyowa Kirin looks beyond creating medicine to making people smile and bringing light to their lives, with \\u201cCommitment to Life\\u201d being one of the company\\u2019s global core values. Turo\\u2019s host community provided him with a convertible, so that he could tour Miami in style, and Turo covered the cost of the journey.<\\\/h6>\\n\n\n<p>Over 60 percent of Dreams involve travel of some kind, and peer-to-peer car-sharing company Turo helps those Dreams that include car travel of any kind come true.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Turo\\u2019s involvement with Dream Foundation began at Turbo Week, a company-wide conference held in January of 2019, when a Turo customer support specialist brought everyone\\u2019s attention to a terminally-ill man who wanted to drive a Jaguar F-Type R before he died.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>His story inspired them to partner with Dream Foundation and connect members of their wonderful host community, who share their cars on the platform, with Dream recipients. Turo also covers the cost of the Dream recipients' journeys.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Logan K. from the Turo Executive Support Team explains how it works. She says, \\\"We take pride in vetting our hosts and finding the best host possible for the Dream recipient's trip. We typically look for Power Hosts (these hosts have many vehicles on our platform, strive to provide great service, and have specific metrics they have to meet). Also, these hosts provide extras like refuelling, unlimited mileage, and post-trip cleaning so our Dream recipients do not have to worry when picking up or dropping off the car.\\\"<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Another member of the Executive Support Team, Ashley M., adds, \\\"I felt very privileged to be a part of Dream Foundation's mission.
