Vietnam Marine Veteran is Honored in Batavia

Dreams for Veterans | In the News | September 12, 2017

BATAVIA – Dream Foundation, the only national dream-granting organization for terminally ill adults, recently fulfilled the final dream of Michael Lynch from South Elgin, a 68-year-old Marine veteran who requested a celebration of life. The event was held at the Lincoln Inn in Batavia.

With a life expectancy of less than three months, Lynch wanted to reunite with those he loves the most, his family and friends, according to a news release. The foundation’s Dreams for Veterans program also honored Lynch with a Dreams for Veterans challenge coin, a proclamation for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam war, and an accompanying Vietnam lapel pin to honor him for his bravery and courage.
