Organization fulfills veteran’s dream
George Bennett is a man of few words. But at his whole family came to visit him on Saturday, he had a few choice ones for his excitement.
“Hell, I don’t know,” said 77-year old veteran George Bennett. “No truthfully. I would say that I am the luckiest man on the planet.”
The Dream Foundation and Amedisys Foundation fulfilled its 100th dream for their national organization for George.
“He’s my life,” said his wife Marie Bennett. “I always tell him. You just being here is all I need.”
His nurse was also invited and felt like a part of the family.
“You learn a lot about someone at their struggles and what they go through at the end of life,” said his nurse Lisa Broadway. “It’s a very unique experience.”
