Hospice patient enjoys final fishing trip
A Hospice of Davidson County patient fulfilled a final dream this month thanks to the assistance of Hospice of Davidson County and the Dream Foundation.
Marlin Lovingood boarded a pontoon boat on Feb. 18 at High Rock Lake to enjoy a relaxing fishing trip with his family.
Lovingood, a Thomasville resident, is 67 years old and living with Parkinson’s disease. Growing up, some of his fondest memories with his eight siblings included fishing on High Rock Lake. By 9 years of age, he spent as much time as possible, no matter the weather, fishing for bass on the lake.
“From the moment I was informed I was sick and there was no cure for Parkinson’s disease, I knew I wanted to go fishing on a boat one last time,” Lovingood said. “It was a great day on the lake with my family and I’m appreciative for Hospice of Davidson County and the Dream Foundation for fulfilling my dream.”
