Marines fulfill Nebraskan’s dream

Through all the pain and all the difficulties, Julian Galindo never suffered an identity crisis.
Once a Marine, always a Marine.

But my, how it lifted Galindo’s spirits sky-high to be recognized again as a part of the Corps, even for just a final, fleeting moment.

Last month Galindo, 51, who lives in Lyons, Neb., had a lifelong desire fulfilled by the Dream Foundation, an organization that aims to grant wishes for adults in the end stages of their life. Galindo, who served in the Marine Corps from 1977 through 1997, got to visit Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., the oldest active post in the Marine Corps.
