Cancer patient’s dream comes true in Birmingham
It was a special Halloween day for one Alabama family.
Melanie, a patient at Alabama Oncology, is a 51 year old Navy veteran who’s battling terminal pancreatic cancer.
Melanie was diagnosed New Year’s Eve 2013, and had a dream of taking her family on a vacation.
She wanted to bring her children and grandchildren for a trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, to see the fall season in all its colors, and visit Dollywood.
Today, Dream Foundation made that wish come true, and is providing Melanie and her family with a 4-night stay in Gatlinburg, plus money for transportation and meals, and 9 tickets to Dollywood.
The Dream Foundation works similar to Magic Moments and Make-A-Wish, but they are the one organization that grants wishes to terminal adults.
